Alicja Kwade uses a powerfully minimal aesthetic to create commentary on value, desire and perfection. Take for example the above image. The two lamps are pressed closely to the glass sheet which reflects them. The light of the lamps is obscured, denying the audience the satisfaction of seeing something we naturally expect.
