Bernardí Roig is obsessed with our own mortality. His work explores classical mythology and baroque iconography. Roig’s sculptures are confined and stifled in some way, the figures having been cast from real people. Interestingly, Roig fuses together elements of classical sculpture and minimalist modernism, resulting in something fresh and interesting. His work often features the use of fluorescent strip lighting, a media lauded by the minimalists.
