Bartosz Kokosinski likes to take things off the canvas. In fact, he likes to play with the canvas - distort it, fold it, use it in a sculptural fashion and push the usual boundary of the flat surface. Going beyond the view that painting is a two dimensional art form, Kokosinski uses colour and form to create abstract sculptural paintings, allowing the canvas to cast interesting shadows not associated with work hung on the wall. Interestingly, it seems Kokosinski has only graduated from a degree in painting quite recently in 2009, so it may be worth keeping an eye out to see how his work develops with time.
