Sonja Vordermaier creates huge crystalline forms which seem to grow organically from a space, like stalagmites. They seem to consume the architecture, rendering the space totally different. Almost as if shadows are given matter, the forms do not seem to exist within the same existence as the audience. There’s also something particularly aggressive about the shapes, as if they are closing the distance between them and us.
