Alec Soth has a gift for creating surprisingly delightful images from the banal. He’s known for his American projects, which have taken him across the USA, to document life and love. It’s in the same tradition as photographers such as Walker Evans and Stephen Shore, who also traveled and worked across the states. There’s something wonderfully cinematic about Soth’s work and each image gives hint to the story behind it - but not quite enough, leaving the audience hungry for more.
